Journal 7 Dressing for Sucess

Dressing for success is very important because you are representing your company.  The show What to wear on you tube was about a husband and wife team that was opening up their own business . The husband felt that his wife was not dressed to her best to be representing the new company.
In today's working world there are so many different trends that professional child care workers could take in. As for my me, I believe in  dressing in a causal after five style. For example in the show they were talking about walking shorts that hit right above the knee if not a little on it. To me that's a good look for my classroom. No short shorts or low cut shirts would be acceptable and would look absolutely unprofessional. The pride that you take in what you wear, will make you feel more confident . Feeling more confident will also help when taking with parents and leading your classroom.
Dressing professional in a child care would to me look like : walking shorts, no tight fitting jeans , no low cut shirts, and clean flat shoes. Also maybe a center shirt for teachers and more of dressy blouses for Administrators .
I did learn a lot from the show; how to buy bigger and tailor to fit you, if your short buy pants that are straight legged from the hip to the toe and wedges instead of pointed heels. But over all the lesson is to feel confident about your self and what your wearing.

Journal 2

I'm assuming that we answering question on pages 2,4,and 9.

Activity 1.1 identifying  your audiences

The people I think of the most when it comes to the audiences are my students parents , staff and the community around me.

Activity 1.2 Additional conversations

In this conversation I'm not sure if the classroom teacher was in the room when the incident happened, which is a concern of mine if I was that parent. Any time a student is hurt the parents should be contacted. The conversation looks good to me. I'm not sure what else I would have said.

Activity 1.3 Define who you are

Q1- I visualize my business being a small home like environment . I want a feel of home for my students to learn in. I feel when your are comfortable you learn better.

Q2- Yes I feel that my  prices are in a comparable rate. I'm offering a higher level of service for the price of a affordable daycare.

Q3-Yes. Im an academically oriented center

Q4- I will be using state standard curriculum in the classrooms and following the DHS policies and programs that they have laid out for centers. Along with DHS policies , I will have a handbook with the school policies and they identification of the programs that we offer for staff and parents.  The equipment will be also DHS approved.

Q5- Our strength I believe will be the academics. In today's centers a lot of them say preschool, but its just a marketing tool they have stated using. I will have Oklahoma State  certified teachers that will be teaching students. By having the right teachers with the right knowledge will set up apart.

Q6.- You can always in improve your never perfect. I believe getting out and advertising more, will  be something that we need to improve on. Also more parent communication on whats changing in the school is another  part of improvement we need.
